The practice

The practice, known originally as One Stop Architects was formed in 1991 by Rob Bumby, and joined in 1994 by Pamela Parkinson. In 2003 we moved to our own office within Chapel Allerton, Leeds, and changed our name to OSA Architects.

We have built up a wide range of clients from the private and the public sectors, ranging from community groups, through education and health projects to commercial residential and leisure developments. We have developed a strong reputation for environmentally sustainable design, an increasingly essential expertise as the sustainability debate gathers pace.

As a small practice we believe we offer careful and personal attention to our clients. We are committed to good design, and to architecture that continues to inspire and delight.

Awards

The practice won the 'Leeds Award for Architecture' and also the 'Peoples Award for Architecture' for its radical sustainable design for the Epicentre at Meanwood Valley urban farm in Leeds. A state of the art green building, this was one of the smallest and most successful projects funded by the lottery Millennium Commission. Our experience in designing the Centre allowed us to develop our understanding of environmental issues in an architectural context. We are delighted that the EpiCentre features in the 2005 Calendar produced by CABE: "Parkitecture - great buildings in public spaces" picturing park buildings from around the world.
